Biography:
Williams, born in Boston, became a partner as a miniaturist with William Doyle and then later worked on his own. His studio was at No. 6 School Street, and he advertised that he also did death masks. In 1814, he published, "The Elements of Drawing," illustrated by 26 copperplate engravings.
He was known for his portraits, his miniatures and his engravings.
The portraits have a paper label on the back identifying them as Sullivan and the artist as Henry Williams.
