The Journey Begins

I will be writing blogs from time to time about topics ranging from the history of a particular piece of pottery to blogs that are solely for the purpose of idea exchange.  Please understand that I'm not a "NY Times Writer" but, instead just someone who is passionate about a topic and wants to share thoughts and ideas about it.

I just launched my website three weeks ago and I'm still trying to figure out how to expand its audience.  We specialize in 18th and 19th English Ceramics, Chinese Export, Delft, Paintings, Early American Furniture and now Art Nouveau, Art Deco and many other beautiful Decorative Arts.

So, if anyone has any good ideas, I'm all ears.  I also have a store in Monroe, CT at 150 Main Street and I'm trying to get that discovered as well.  The hours are Tuesday-Friday from 10-6 and Saturday from 12-6 and then Sunday and Monday by appointment.  All you have to do is e-mail me at warrenantiques1@gmail.com or give me a call at 203-984-6174 to set up an appointment.

I had no illusions about magic happening once I went live with my website but, I do want to ask the greater community out there, what are some good ways to get the website on people's minds?  I am already posting to facebook, instagram, twitter and Pinterest but what else is there?

And, in this tough economic time, how do you increase the foot traffic to your store.  I've taken out a google ad and I'm posting constantly but, the foot traffic is quiet at best.  So, if anyone has any good ideas, please let me know.

As a type A personality, who spent 33 years in a high stress but wonderful job at a major network, I am used to things happening right away and this is, quite frankly, killing me.  Results are what I'm after and I'm not getting them so, being a "can-do" person, I want to know so, what can I do to make this better.

Thanks for joining me, I hope we can exchange many ideas together!  AJ Warren
