Late 19th Early 20thC Mahogany and Red Leather Deck Chair with Brass Accents. There is an apocryphal oval brass plaque inscribed: The Great Eastern/Liverpool 1811; however that particular ship did not launch until 1858.
She was historic, in that at the time of her launch, she was the largest ship the world had ever seen. Therefore there were many items that were made, after the fact; bedrooom sets, campaign chests and chairs, such as this one, that carried identical plaques as an homage to a ship that was four times bigger than anyone had ever heard of.
