Literature:  "The full famille verte or green family palette appeared during the Kangxi period (1662-1772).  It features three shades of green enamel, together with red, brown, black, aubergine, yellow and blue enamels which are all predominately translucent and are sometimes used in combination with gold highlighting and underglaze blue.

Painted in the Chinese style and sometimes densely composed, famille verte decorations include such traditional subjects as landscapes, fenced gardens, insects and birds, court figures in interior and exterior settings and literary themes...Popular in the export trade and only surpassed in quantity by blue-and-white porcelain, famille verte wares principally date from c1680-1725, although later examples are also known."
